Understanding and Banishing Worry

Worry is a corrosive form of useless thought - that is all worry is. Yet, it turns mole hills into mountains, conjures up imaginary crises and transforms the small puddles that we have to inevitably step over in life into raging impassable rivers. Instead of looking at life's little hand grenades for what they really are, our sad little minds turn them into weapons of mass self-destruction. Worry is not just a waste of your energy - worry, at best, is stifling the life out of you - at worst, it is the cancer that is eating you from the inside out. Worry removes you totally from the here and now and disables you from doing what needs to be done.

Think about just how bizarre the act of worrying realy is. After all, what sensible person would willingly decide to direct their mental energy into something that they do not want to happen? Yet that is what worry is. Maybe this is solid evidence that there aren't too many sensible people about! I've spoken to plenty of people over the last year who are worried about losing their jobs - not because their jobs are in any jeopardy but because they've seen other people lose theirs and, everyday, they take some perverse pleasure in wallowing in the wall-to-wall bad news that is choking the airwaves. And, in the recent past, I've come across quite a few individuals who are worried about money - who, at the very same time, have bought themselves new cars, comforted themselves with a few designer-labelled garments and, after that splurge, have ended up worrying even more!

Which is the more sensible thing to do? Worry about losing your job or doing the job to the very best of your ability? After all, not doing your job to the best of your ability increases the chances of you losing it - your worry, as it often does, becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. And what's the point of worrying about money? It would be far better for you to re-focus your mind on the small but important things that make life truly worth living? Which will lead to a happier and more successful life, directing your energy into what you don't want to happen or pouring your energy into the here and now in the expectation that the things that you want to happen will come to pass?

Sadly, the normal mind is the author of its own misery. I'm not saying that bad things don't happen - the point I'm making is that, when they do, there are very few people who are mentally fit enough to get on with what needs to be done to dig themselves out of the hole and start afresh. In fact, normal people do quite the opposite - even when all is going well for the normal person, those actively go looking for a shovel! Sadly, there's a mountain of research from the field of psychology that indicates that we are predisposed to focus our minds on the negative. And, as one client told me recently, if he can't think of something negative, his mind will start making it up! That is all that worry is - a concoction of a fevered normal mind.

So, let's sort your worries out for you. The first thing that you need to understand is that outside events don't worry you - it is you who decides to worry. That decision may be subconscious but it is, nevertheless, a decision on your part. What you have to do it release your subconscious mind from its obsession with the negative. You don't do this by fighting - and giving even more energy to - the negative - rather, you achieve it be consciously paying attention to real reality - the reality of what is actually taking place in this moment. The reality of now is very different from what you perceive it to be. Your perception is warped by your negative subconscious mind - you see nothing as it is. So you end up seeing other stuff - stuff that isn't real, problems that may never arise at some point in the future - when, yet, all you truly have is right here, right now.

The only place where you can be your very best is here. The only time that you can take the action required to better your life is now. You need to learn how to focus as much of your attention as possible on here and now. When you focus your attention in this manner, you will simply have too little attention left to manufacture the crazy trains of thought that hijack the worrier's mind! Not only will you break the subconscious cycle of worry, you will become more effective by being more focused - even a half-wit - and research suggests that most normal people fall into this category! - could work that out!

So, tomorrow morning, instead of starting your day in the mindless mess that fosters and nurtures worry, take five minutes - it's all that you need to set things in motion. Sit down somewhere where you won't be disturbed for those five minutes, close your eyes and focus only on what you hear. The next morning,sit down quietly again and turn your attention to the physical feelings that you're experiencing in your body. After a couple of days, start focusing on the subtler feelings - you might concentrate for five minutes on the effect that each breath has on your body - your nostrils, shoulders, chest, lungs and stomach. Start getting in touch with what your senses are actually telling you. In coming to your senses, you will understand the nonsense of worry.

150 Conscious Entrepreneurs Responded To The Question

Here is the important thing to understand, conscious or spiritual entrepreneur's top fears are no different in today's economic environment then they were five years ago or 10 years ago when the economy was on the upswing.

I summarized the most common challenges that were repeated over and over again, which demonstrates that if you see yourself in any of these replies right now you're operating from a space of fear, which will create lack and constriction in your life. Here were the replies to my question:

You're experiencing a lack in finances or sales

You're concerned about how you're going to pay your bills this month or in the near future.

You've heard everything in the paper about the economy and what it's doing to businesses around you, and your worried how it will affect your business.

You're concerned about the growing competition in the internet because it seems like whatever you do for a living there's a 100 million other people now that say they do the same thing.

You want to leave your current job and start a new business but you're worried about leaving a steady income and starting something new in today's environment.

You're concerned that your marketing isn't working as well as you would like it to work, and not sure what is the best route that will get the fastest results.

You're in a personal relationship or business partnership that isn't working and you don't know how to fix it, or you are afraid to leave it even though you know it isn't serving you.

You are single and getting older and worried you won't find true love and the right partner to spend your life with.

You surround yourself with people who constantly have drama in their life, always seem to be in a state of lack or who don't support you and they are depleting your energy.

You have lost passion for your business or any aspect of your life and feel hopeless about the future and don't know how to get the passion back.

You find yourself procrastinating on making a decision or moving your business forward for fear of making a mistake and making your financial situation even worse.

You are feeling overwhelmed, confused, frustrated, helpless, lonely or hopeless.

You're in your 50's, 60's or 70's and lost passion for what you're doing, but don't want to start over again this late in life. Or you're worried and upset that you have reached the age you are and still have not created the success you had envisioned for yourself so you feel like a failure.

You feel really disconnected to a piece of yourself.

You used to experience joy, fun or excitement and manifest easily and now nothing seems to be in flow and obstacles keep getting thrown in your path.

You're attracting people who can't afford your products or services.

You are holding on to your only savings right now worried that your money will run out before your circumstances turn around.

If you can relate to any of the scenarios I just talked about, then you are experiencing a place of constriction in your life that I refer to as a rabbit hole.

A rabbit hole is a place of fear or constriction that is deeply entrenched in your subconscious shaping and influencing the circumstances around you that bring you more of what you don't want in your life rather than those things you do want. It influences every decision you are making right now in your life and what you are attracting to your business.

Rabbit holes influence the quality of your relationships, your chances for financial success and will cut off your powerful connection to the universal energy flow from an aligned space. They are an indicator that you are not in alignment with your soul or your own internal power source, and you have cut off your connection to the universal energy flow.

When you were born you came into the world wanting three things, love, protection and to be provided for. As you grew up if any of those things were jeopardized in any way you started forming beliefs that were stored in your subconscious.

By the age of seven you had developed an entire set of beliefs about money, being rich, being loved, being successful, being deserving, your self worth and so on depending on how you were loved, protected or provided for growing up. By an early age you had created all the positive and negative beliefs about yourself which in turn has guided you your whole life in all decisions you make.

Your subconscious has one job, that's to keep you safe. Its purpose is not to make you happy. Also, on a subconscious level any constrictive judgmental beliefs you have about yourself you believe to be true. Therefore, if you developed any kind of constrictive belief as a child your subconscious will continue to pull in and attract circumstances into your life over and over again in some form or fashion to make that belief true in your life.

Within the first seven years you also adopted the rabbit holes of your parents especially regarding money. So if your parents had negative views about what it meant to be rich, or they had scarcity thinking or they talked about a shortage of money when you were growing up, chances are you adopted these constrictive beliefs about money.

When you formed any constrictive beliefs as a child about money, or what it meant to be loved, or what it meant to be protected, you did not have the maturity or logic skills to know that these beliefs were not true. They did not represent the authentic you on a soul level, nor did you know that they would not serve you as an adult. Based on the small amount of facts you had as a kid you thought them to be true, especially if your parents passed them on to you, or put you down verbally, or threatened you physically.

This list of fears was sent to me from entrepreneurs around the world and demonstrates what is going on in the subconscious mind of many people. Those fears will attract the very things in their life that they are afraid of.

These rabbit holes are not only common place, but they are keeping you connected to the grid work of fear until you learn how to bypass them in your subconscious and connect to your real source of power which is accessed on a soul level.

Here is what is so critical; rabbit holes, or constrictive beliefs, are pure fiction you made up as a child to figure out the reason WHY you weren't being loved unconditionally, provided for or protected emotionally or physically. Rabbit holes are the story you made up as a child about yourself. They are fiction. And they will make your road to success a very difficult one.

Every single belief you have stored in your subconscious will either be expansive or constrictive. They will either serve you to make a better life for yourself or they won't. A

constrictive set of beliefs will take the form of fear based thinking, lack, self judgment and trigger feelings of failure. As a child this limited thinking was your rationalization for the circumstances you were experiencing. This was a coping mechanism you created as a child. That's it.

While you grew up you not only formed beliefs about yourself and stored them in your subconscious mind, you also collected information, skills, knowledge and experiences. AND your soul continued to expand.

Your connection to your soul is through any expansive beliefs which give you feelings of freedom, creativity, passion, inner peace and self love. Expansive beliefs will always take you closer to what you want and will make your road to success an easy one.

Payday Loans Rescue Everyday People From Disaster.

Jennifer had never really had to worry about money problems before. Since leaving college she had a successful career which more than provided for her modest lifestyle. Then the unthinkable happened she became the victim of identity theft.

"Someone had accessed my credit card accounts and charged up online purchases in the thousands." The young financial advisor recalls.

Normally this would not have meant an immediate emergency but Jennifer had just drained her savings to make down payment on a new car, her first ever big purchase.

"I was counting on a credit card advance to make the difference, using it to cover my rent payment before my paycheck came. But it was December, and my next paycheck wasn't coming until the second week of January. The credit companies froze all my cards and the only money I had was what was in my purse!"

Jennifer found herself with money barely enough for a weeks groceries. She tried to stretch her resources by skipping breakfast, and her ever important cup of coffee.

"That was the hardest part," Jennifer concedes with a smile. "Though after even the first few days it took a toll on me. I was grumpy and snappy at the office and even my coworkers could tell something was wrong."

It wasn't just the grumbling stomach and lack of caffeine that was making Jennifer upset, she was worried about paying her monthly bills. But she couldn't confess that to her colleagues.

"Even though it wasn't my fault it was still embarrassing, I mean here I am, a financial advisor and I was struggling to pay my household bills. I know how important it is to have a unblemished payment record. I even thought about taking the car back to see if I could renegotiate my down payment so I could have the cash I needed."

It was on that drive back to the auto dealership that Jennifer found the solution to her temporary cash flow problem. As she waited at a red light she found herself looking at a professional storefront office she had driven by 100 times before but never really taken notice of. I was shocked at how easy it was."

Even though her identity theft issues have since been cleared up by the credit card companies Jennifer is still appreciative of the helpful nature of her local pay day lender. She credits the pay day loan office in her city with saving her credit rating.

Dealing with Anxiety, Fear and Panic

Worrying about money, being anxious about job security, worrying about children, fearful of personal security, feeling inadequate - these are the things that occupy the normal mind. Unfortunately, psychology has proven time and time again that the normal mind is plagued by negative thought. This negativity is formed in the subconscious - that part of the mind that was inculcated with this form of negative thinking during our formative years - and is fed by the ubiquity of bad news, negative comment and the horror stories on which the mass media thrive. We are surrounded - from within and without - by negativity.

For many, that negativity leads to anxiety - we become anxious about all the things that we don't want to befall us. Anxiety often leads to fear - again, fearful of the things that we don't want to happen. And, for some, that anxiety can lead to outright panic - and that panic often overtakes us without any prior warning.

The first thing that you need to realize is that, if you are feeling anxious, fearful or panicked, it has nothing to do with you - it is the product of an over-active personality. Your personality - the person that you think you are - is a fiction comprised of all the psychological 'snapshots' that you took during your formative years. You took snapshots of events that made an impression on you at the time and, now, your subconscious mind is using those snapshots to create what you perceive to be your reality. And, because your subconscious automatically pours your energy into these negative emotions, you generally end up proving yourself right - you were right to worry, right to be anxious, right to be fearful - your life becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Psychology tells us that we can only perceive and experience what we expect to perceive and experience. In other words, if we change our expectations, our experience of life will change. This, however, is easier said than done because, as I have already said, not only is your subconscious mind occupied by the long-term squatters of negative thought, you are surrounded by other people who are similarly minded. It is difficult to believe that life could be so different.

What you have to do is start re-building your innate ability to ignore useless, self-sabotaging and negative thought by redirecting your attention to what is real. Reality is only to be found in the here and now. To be blunt, this breath could be your last - you had better get on with experiencing, living and capitalizing upon the wonder of the here and now. The real here and now is a place where anxiety, fear and panic are simply not. It is a place where real action is taken - action that can move your life in the right direction. It is a place where challenges are met head on - not worried about, panicked over or wallowed in.

However, there is a problem - you cannot suddenly become relaxed, focused and present bang in the midst of adversity. Try telling someone who is in the depths of despair that, in reality, the here and now is the realm of real opportunity and happiness. Try explaining this to someone who has given up on succeeding, having failed over and over. Try telling someone who is in the throes of panic that his or her panic isn't real. It's just not on! Instead, you've got to cultivate your natural ability to present, the innate capacity that we all have to appreciate, experience and live in the here and now - when it doesn't matter, so that you can be fully focused, fully alert, fully present and fully armed, when it really does matter.

You've got to acclimatize your otherwise negative mind to the actual reality of the here and now. You've got to set time aside - diligently and in a disciplined manner - to train your mind to pay attention to reality instead of the negative circus in your head. You can start this training right away - no special fitness equipment is required! Tomorrow morning get up ten or fifteen minutes earlier than usual and deliberately take ten minutes to sit where you won't be disturbed. Pay attention to what your five senses are actually telling you. For starters, you might cut out your visual sense - it will ease your otherwise constant mental tendency to be distracted. So, sit and listen. Focus on what you are actually hearing. Clear your mind of thought, turn off the noise in your head. Pay attention to now - not what your imaginary personality is concocting for you based on its long-held preconceived notions. Get that impostor out of the way - out of your life - and see where life might take you.
